MATH 304 - Modern Algebra Develops understanding of the power of mathematical abstraction and symbolism through the study of advanced algebraic structures. Studies matrices, groups, integral domains, rings, and fields and discusses their relationship to the pre-college algebra curriculum. Emphasizes problem solving and requires students to use a variety of algebraic representations and techniques to model and analyze problem situations and solutions.
