GEOL 310 - Natural Disasters and Human Impacts Introduces geologic catastrophes, such as earthquake, volcanic eruption, landslide, tsunami, severe weather, flood, and wildfire, with emphasis on the relationship between humans and natural hazards. Examine physical processes that cause these natural Earth events. Discussion of historical events and societal impacts. Students will assess risk and evaluate mitigation alternatives.
