Surveys terrestrial ecosystems across California emphasizing the role of climate, soils, water, and human impacts on plant distribution. Includes learning dominant and special status species to prepare students for roles in conservation and resource management. Field trips focus on ecosystems of the Central Coast region and may include one or more weekend field trips. Cross-listed with ENVS 342 .
