HOSP 200 - Introduction to Sustainable Hospitality & Tourism


In this engaging introductory course, students gain a strong understanding of the core principles of sustainable hospitality and tourism. Explore current and emerging trends in sustainable tourism and examine business models that integrate sustainability into hospitality and tourism operations, including the triple bottom line approach (profit, people, planet). Learn about resource management and environmental conservation practices, engage in insightful discussions on industry challenges, such as overtourism, climate change, and cultural preservation. Immersive field experiences and industry-expert guest speakers enrich students’ education and expose them to the many career opportunities in the growing field of sustainable hospitality and tourism.
