SBS 323 - Southwestern Archaeology Ancient peoples and places of the American Southwest frame this exploration of the archaeologists and explorers who trekked the landscapes of Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah for archaeology and science. Ancestral Pueblo peoples of the American Southwest and their cultural legacies are central to this exploration of ancient towns. This survey of the archaeology of the American Southwest spans Paleo-Indian origins and sedentary agricultural villages, chiefdoms, and state-level societies.
