SPAN 335 - Popular Culture in the Americas This course proposes a hemispheric, interdisciplinary examination of intercultural dialog that influenced and shaped popular cultural production both in Latin America and the United States throughout the 20th and early 21st centuries. Hispanic cultural products and its manifestations (mass culture, high culture, popular culture) are examined by its intersections with history, race/ ethnicity, gender, social class, religion, migration/ exile, and hybrid identities. Taught in Spanish.
