Introduction to Late Romantic and Modernist harmonic and rhythmic structures and techniques. Introduction to hypermetric analysis and strategies for large-scale formal organization in post-tonal music. Complete movements, or entire shorter works of the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries, are analyzed through a variety of theoretical approaches.
