Dean & Staff

Andrew Lawson, Ph.D., Dean

Dean Andrew Lawson came to CSUMB in 2016 from Fresno State where he served as Interim Dean, Associate Dean and Professor of Entomology. Dr. Lawson completed a bachelor’s degree in biology from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and a Ph.D.in entomology from the University of California, Berkeley. His graduate and post-doctoral work in focused on the use of natural enemies to control urban forest insect pests. Since joining the CSU in 1993, his research projects have focused on integrated pest management in almonds, grapes and pistachios. Dr. Lawson has provided leadership in general education, assessment, and accreditation efforts.
