Andrew Drummond, Ph.D., Interim Dean
Prior to his appointment as Interim Dean of the college, Andrew Drummond served for four years as Associate Dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at CSUMB, and for two years as Associate Dean in the College of Social Sciences and Communication at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, the metropolitan, community-engaged institution of the Arkansas system that serves the capital city.
A Political Scientist by training, Dr. Drummond has taught widely in the realm of comparative politics, frequently offering courses on the European Union, comparative western democracies, and democratic theory. His core scholarship centers on the impact of electoral design on party system formation and the formation and expression of ideological bias, and has appeared in a number of respected academic journals, including Political Studies, Party Politics, the Journal of Democracy, and Europe-Asia Studies. As a scholar-administrator, Dr. Drummond focuses on the fields of Implementation and Improvement Science, where his most recent work (with Dr. Kevin Grobman) has appeared at the annual Summit of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
Dr. Drummond holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine, where he was a fellow at the Center for the Study of Democracy.
