Required Courses
Please note: Twelve of the units taken to complete a minor (6 of which are upper division) may not be used in fulfillment of other minors, concentrations, or major requirements.
This minor requires that students be eligible to enroll in (4 units), either by a satisfactory score on a chemistry placement test (available from the School of Natural Sciences) or by completion of (5 units) or a higher math course.
Learning Outcomes
LO 1: Chemical Foundations
Students develop problem-solving skills related to the nature of matter at atomic and molecular scales, and can understand and describe bonding, transformations, reactions, an other chemical properties, and they apply basic scientific principles and methods to these chemical processes.
LO2: Advanced Knowledge in Chemistry
Students apply scientific principles and methods in one or more areas of Chemistry selected from among courses in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, environmental, agricultural, forensic, or organic chemistry.
