Computer Science, AS-T to Computer Science, B.S.

If you transferred into CSUMB from a California community college as an AS-T certified student in Computer Science, you must complete the following courses for your bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (CS) at CSUMB. If you are unsure about your transfer status, please contact your advisor.

Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 and must earn a grade of C- or above in any course that serves as a pre-requisite to a more advanced course.

Required Courses

Complete the following courses with a grade of C- or above in order to fulfill pre-requisites for more advanced courses:
CST 300 - Major ProSeminar Units: 4
CST 338 - Software Design Units: 4
Complete all of the following courses:
CST 334 - Operating Systems Units: 4
CST 370 - Design and Analysis of Algorithms Units: 4
CST 462S - Race, Gender, Class in the Digital World Units: 3
CST 499 - Computer Science Capstone Units: 4

Concentrations

Complete one of the following Concentrations or the General Computer Science option to fulfill the requirements of the CS major:

Software Engineering Concentration

Network & Security Concentration

Data Science Concentration

Game Development Concentration

General Computer Science, AS-T

General Education and University Requirements

To satisfy the requirements of the degree, students must successfully complete all Undergraduate Requirements . Several of these (UD-D, UDSL, and GWAR) are embedded within the major curriculum.

Select and complete coursework to meet the following requirements:

Upper division GE B area
Upper division GE C area that double counts with World Culture & Language . Select from:
- JAPN 350 - World Culture and Language: Japanese
- SPAN 350 - World Culture and Language: Spanish
American Institutions

Students may select additional elective coursework if necessary to complete 60 units.
