Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Programs by Degree

The Music minor, in alignment with the major, emphasizes well-rounded musicianship, achieved through a balance of performance, composition, scholarship, and technology. You will be taking courses in each sub-discipline; taken together, these courses provide a solid foundation for any musician and support a range of cross-disciplinary interests involving music. The courses also lay a foundation for further music coursework in any of the sub-disciplines and contribute to the B.A. in Music, should you choose to make this your major.

Required Courses

Please note: Twelve of the units taken to complete a minor (6 of which are upper division) may not be used in fulfillment of other minors, concentrations, or major requirements.
