Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Programs and Degrees

The Sociology minor introduces the foundations for a science of behavior that encompasses both social and mental processes.  It includes selected learning outcomes that ensure depth and breadth in sociological theory and practice.

The Sociology minor provides sufficient undergraduate preparation for the minimum entry requirements to an accredited graduate program in sociology without extensive additional upper-division coursework, although an introductory statistics course and a research methods course are recommended.

Learning Outcomes

LO 1: Sociological Foundations

Students demonstrate understanding of foundational sociological theories and concepts.

LO 2: Statistical Reasoning, Research Methods, and Data Management

LO 3: Breadth of Application
