HOSP 472 - Environmental Systems and Tourism Management


This course explores the complex relationship between environmental systems and the tourism industry, with a focus on eco-friendly practices, resource conservation, and responsible management in the hospitality and tourism sectors. Students will acquire a comprehensive understanding of various environmental systems, encompassing ecosystems, biodiversity, climate, and natural resources, and their significance in the tourism context.  Through immersive case studies, students examine tourism management strategies, including destination planning, marketing, and visitor management with a central theme of sustainability and environmental stewardship. Students will be equipped to integrate sustainability principles, enhancing guest experiences and making a positive impact on both the industry and the environment.
