HDFS 358 - Middle Childhood In this course, students examine physical, cognitive, and socio-emotional development during the school age years (ages 6-11) with an emphasis on the various contexts in which children develop, such as cultural community, family, peer groups, and school. Students critically examine developmental theories and research, and explore the application of research in different social settings.
