Biology, Minor

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Programs by Type

The Biology minor provides a solid core of fundamental biology courses coupled with advanced biology electives you can choose in your area of interest within Biology.

In addition to deepening your understanding and appreciation of the living world, a Biology minor expands your career and grad school opportunities by enabling you to take your non-biology major in exciting new directions.

Required Courses

Please note: Twelve of the units taken to complete a minor (6 of which are upper division) may not be used in fulfillment of other minors, concentrations, or major requirements.  Students must earn a C- or above in each course that serves as a pre-requisite to a more advanced course.

Complete at least 12 units, including at least 6 upper-division units, of the following coursework. Some biology courses have additional prerequisites that are not part of the Biology Minor, so students should work closely with an advisor to plan an appropriate sequence of courses:

Learning Outcomes
