Computer Science AS-T to CS-BS Core Requirements

• Complete the following courses with a grade of C- or above in order to fulfill pre-requisites for more advanced courses:

• CST 300 - Graduation Writing Assessment for Computing and Design Units: 3
• CST 338 - Software Design Units: 4
• CST 349 - Computer Science Proseminar Units: 2

• Complete all of the following courses:

• CST 334 - Operating Systems Units: 4
• CST 370 - Design and Analysis of Algorithms Units: 4
• CST 462S - Race, Gender, Class in the Digital World Units: 3
• CST 499 - Computer Science Capstone Units: 4

General Computer Science (No Concentration)

In lieu of completing a Computer Science Concentration, students may select from the following courselist to complete the requirements of the Computer Science major.

• Complete twenty-four (24) units of the following elective coursework, not previously taken:

• CST 205 - Multimedia Design and Programming Units: 4
• CST 311 - Introduction to Computer Networks Units: 4
• CST 315 - Introduction to Cybersecurity Units: 4
• CST 325 - Graphics Programming Units: 4
• CST 326 - Game Development Units: 4
• CST 336 - Internet Programming Units: 4
• CST 363 - Introduction to Database Systems Units: 4
• CST 380 - Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing Units: 4
• CST 383 - Introduction to Data Science Units: 4
• CST 415 - Advanced Cybersecurity Units: 4
• CST 438 - Software Engineering Units: 4
• CST 463 - Advanced Machine Learning Units: 4

General Education and University Requirements

To satisfy the requirements of the degree, students must successfully complete all Undergraduate Requirements .  Several of these (Upper division GE Area 4, UDSL, and GWAR) are embedded within the major curriculum.

Select and complete coursework to meet the following requirements:

• Upper division Area 2 or 5   
• Upper division GE Area 3  that double counts with World Culture & Language . Select from:
  • JAPN 350 - World Culture and Language: Japanese  
  • SPAN 350 - World Culture and Language: Spanish  
• American Institutions  

Students may select additional elective coursework if necessary to complete 60 units.
