Performing Arts Minor

The Performing Arts Minor is an interdisciplinary program in which students pursue their interests in a variety of aspects of performance and stagecraft, including acting, musicianship, spoken word, design, lighting, and sound.

Required Courses


Complete 12 units from the following courses. You must complete courses in at least two different areas: CART, HCOM, MPA, or VPA.

Please note: Twelve of the units taken to complete a minor (6 of which are upper division) may not be used in fulfillment of others minors, concentrations, or major requirements.

Learning Outcomes


Learning Outcome 1: 

Students productively engage in the collaborative and creative process by reflecting on the ideas and work of peers, as well as their own.

Learning Outcome 2: 

Students define and apply terminology and techniques used in the performing arts.

Learning Outcome 3: 

Students assess, analyze, and critique the relevance and impact of performance.
